Meet Emily
I’m Emily, owner of Pixels, a full-service, print-based photography studio. Dedicated to providing more than just images, Pixels provides our clients with an exceptional experience from the initial meeting until the final prints are on your walls.
Studio fine art portraits have become my true passion. I specialize in heirloom products, including unique wall art and albums, and have grown to love designing multi-piece wall collages for my clients. Every session of mine is a custom creation that I take great pride in designing.
I do not have an ‘I fell in love with all things photography when I was 3 years old’ kind of story. Though I have earned my Master Photographer degree and am a Certified Professional Photographer* through the Professional Photographers of America, I arrived at this place of doing ‘soul work’ through a somewhat crooked path
I jokingly refer to myself as a “recovered” CPA after working over a decade as a tax accountant before I found photography. Almost ten years ago now, I traded in suits for yoga pants, and heels for Chucks to become a stay-at-home mom. Three years after that, I signed up for a park district photography class.Before the class ended I declared that I was going to open a photography business. Four short months later, I did and I have never looked back!
Pixels is a family of families. I am not trying to be, nor do I want to be, everyone’s photographer. My philosophy is to do a lot really well for a few and, in the end, make long-term ties with the families I photograph. I want to see your family evolve over the years and watch your kids grow up.
