Every once in a while you come across someone who just gets you. They get your crazy ideas and counter them with the perfected vision. That someone is Pixels by Emily Donohoe. Emily has taken countless of my ideas and turned them into a photograph that I can't even describe with words. She knows my style, so much so that a simple lace kid's dress she scrolls across on Etsy turns into an entire scene set out in the country. Her photos are breathtaking. When I look at them on our walls, it's not just an image I'm looking at. It's the meticulous planning and detail she puts into setting up the scene. It's the memories of the day we captured them. It's the laughs that she got my husband, daughter, and I to explode with when she was behind the camera. Emily isn't just a photographer that shows up the day of the shoot. She's the photographer who gets to know your family. She's the photographer that hasn't created a clientele, she's created a family. When we found Pixels by Emily Donohoe, I was pregnant with our daughter. I had no clue what was ahead of me. When we walked into her studio the week after our daughter was born, I was tired. I was scared. I was more in love with this little thing than I had ever known possible. I was a new mom. Somehow, Emily took all of those feelings and emotions and wrapped them up into the biggest embrace I never knew I needed at that moment. I'll never forget when she said, "You two sit here on this couch, watch some Netflix, take a nap if you need it!" She had known us for ten minutes, and I felt like she saw straight through to my soul and knew exactly what I needed. My husband might have actually cried tears of joy. That day not only launched a series of family photos (we purchased the Grow with Me package) it launched a friendship. I feel so lucky that 4 years later, my daughter still gets excited to see "Auntie Em" and I get to call her my friend. (Oh, and that Grow with Me package... it's still growing. 4 years later and Emily is still turning my wildest thoughts into reality.) When you sign up with Pixels by Emily Donohoe, you're not signing up for a photography service. You're signing up for a woman who will get to know you. She will understand you. She will be there for you. Oh, and you'll also have the best photographs and wall collages out there. I will be forever grateful for the memories Emily has captured for our family.

We love Emily for many reasons! But at the end of the day, the reason we keep coming back isn't because we are friends. It's easy, relaxed, fun, we feel comfortable with her, she has great location, set and styled ideas for your pictures and will 100% make your own visions come to life. I am picky and particular. She knows it and works hard to give me peace of mind. She will make any location work and has even climbed a deer stand to get the right shot. Emily works hard and has undeniable magical powers to make my husband smile like he means it! Since 2016, Emily has taken our engagement pictures, we have done the grow with me plan for our son, and we just did our first family pictures this fall. Emily also talked me into doing a maternity session when I was pregnant with our son. I was hesitant but couldn't be happier with the shoot. I would have NEVER done the milk bath or naked silhouette with anyone else. They came out absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't be happier. My husband loves his silhouette. When Emily took our engagement photos in 2016 we were both nervous. My husband doesn't enjoy taking pictures and I usually get awkward when a camera is in my face but Emily created a working environment that was casual, light and funny and her directions were easy. She put us in our correct poses,etc...and soon we were naturals and the rest of the shoot was a breeze. Over the last 3 years, what we have appreciated the most is her dedication to delivering the best work to her clients. My husband continues to show up for pictures because he knows she will get the job done and get it done at any location and edit the images until you look your best. She works her tail off with your children to get the shot you need which sometimes means chasing them around to get that money shot even after she (Emily) fell down the stairs the day before. This is a true story.

Emily has been our photographer for close to four years now and has captured so many beautiful images of our children and family. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Emily on quite a few projects and I would not trust my team with anyone else. After purchasing my business it was time to figure out how I wanted to present myself and my staff. So many decisions. Emily was patient, had the right questions, full of ideas, and always accommodating. Her ability to work with each of my team members and make everyone feel comfortable and laugh definitely made our photos fun and genuine.

Emily is amazing! She does all of our professional photography (workgroup photos, headshots, etc.) for us. We wouldn't choose just anyone for this job because these images are used in our print marketing, social media, and on our company website. Starting with scheduling: Emily has been very easy to work with, even with sometimes having to bring ~15 or more people to her studio for a single session. Upon arrival, we are greeted with her wonderful personality and the "camera jitters" are gone before stepping in front of the camera. She knows the background and poses that we prefer, so the backdrop and all lighting is ready to go as well, no need to wait around for anything to be set up. During the photo taking process, Emily offers easy to follow queues for how to improve posing - Whether it be, "tilt your chin", "drop your shoulders'', or "keep your eyes open this time", (haha) she ensures that; even if it feels a little awkward at first, that the final product is improved because of any suggestions made. After leaving the studio we know we're in good hands as well. Very quickly we receive images to proof before final edits are made - this helps ease the waiting period. Before we know it, the final images arrive and are somehow always better than we had anticipated! Because Emily knows we use images for print and online purposes we're provided with a very high-quality file and a much smaller file type. I've yet to print an image that looks grainy or pixelated from the high-quality file and the smaller file types quality is visually the same, but loads MUCH quicker for website purposes. We will be returning as we continue to grow and look forward to working with Emily again soon.
